NORTH Yorkshire Police are investigating an incident after Scarborough's 2-0 National Conference win against Halifax Town at the McCain Stadium.
Police were called to the tunnel after the final whistle.
Boro boss Neil Redfearn said: "I have been told by a steward that there was an altercation between Neil Bishop (Scarborough) and Denny Ingram (Halifax).
"Bishop has a badly cut lip but I am unable to say anything further as the police are investigating the incident."
Halifax's Chris Wilder said: "I can't really comment as I was in the dressing-room and I will have to wait to see what any reports say."
North Yorkshire Police confirmed that an incident had been reported to them and that their investigations were ongoing.
There were seven cautions during the game, but it was never dirty.
Ex-York City winger Rory Prendergast, on loan from Blackpool, had replaced Craig Midgley in the Town side and had a good spell in the first-half, during which John Grant had a header cleared off the line by Ashley Lyth and Adam Quinn should have done better when he shot wide from only seven yards.
In the first minute of the second-half, Lee Fowler thundered a free-kick through the fingers of Adam Legzdins.
Boro got their second goal when substitute Andy Parton, making his debut on loan from Scunthorpe, was tripped by Quinn and Ian Clark scored his first goal of the season with a coolly-taken penalty.
"We upped the tempo after the break and there was only going to be one winner after that," said Redfearn.
