RICCALL lost top spot in Leeper Hare York and District League division two as they dropped two points in a goalless draw away to White Horse Church Fenton, writes Terry Todd.
The new leaders are Poppleton, who beat Moor Lane 4-1 thanks to a Carl Sheppherd hat-trick and one goal from Steve Sacks. Gary Tutt replied for Moor Lane.
Kevin Gaynor scored twice for Selby RSSC in their 4-1 home win over Barmby Moor, but the pick of the goals came from Jon Teale, with a 'screamer' of a shot.
Gareth Rhodes completed the scoring for Selby, while Martin Peacock got Barmby's goal.
Civil Service had their best home win in over two years by beating Fulford 4-1.
A Nick Doggitt header gave them an early lead and though Steve Cooper levelled for Fulford before the break, second half goals from Richard Burrows, Andy Simpson (penalty) and Neil Hunter sealed the win.
Division three leaders Norton made it seven wins from seven games as they beat Stillington 4-1.
Chris Seager got a hat-trick and John Dutton scored Norton's other goal. Philip Bell replied for Stillington.
Paul Crangle, top scorer in the division, netted twice as his Osbaldwick side beat Strensall 4-3.
The O's other goals came from Neil Robertson and Nick Lawrie. Crangle has scored in his last four outings for Osbaldwick.
Strensall had earlier taken the lead through Nigel Lyall, and then equalised with a Shaun Lyons header and set up a tense finish with a late goal from Matty Brown.
St Clements remain in third spot after winning 2-0 at Melbourne with a goal in each half, their first strike coming from Mike Nicholls and the second from Chris Rowan.
Fourth-placed Cawood lost ground on the leaders after going down 4-3 at home to Bishop Wilton, despite taking the lead twice, the first time from Richard Gladwin, then from Billy Ayton.
Bishop Wilton equalisers came from Mark Blenkin and Dave Burrows before Dan Padghem put them in front only for Pete McCloughin to draw Cawood level.
In the dying minutes John Schofield snatched victory for the visitors.
Heworth have lost both home league games this season 3-1 so it was a reversal of fortunes for them to record a 3-1 win over visitors Wheldrake. Their goals came from Tim Rye, Ben Branigan and Carl Turpin.
