Gareth Rees got the winner as Rawcliffe Rangers won 2-1 away to Beckett League side Coxwold in the third round of York FA Saturday Junior Cup.

Coxwold went ahead after ten minutes when Paul Holmes rounded the 'keeper to net from an acute angle. Rawcliffe's veteran keeper Dave Casper made a tremendous one-handed save to deny Holmes a second goal.

Rawcliffe equalised after half an hour when a ball from midfield fell to Danny Coulson, who cracked it into the net.

In the second half, Coxwold applied most of the pressure and created scoring chances but Rees netted the winner for the visitors.

York scored beat visitors LNER Builders 3-0 in extra time after a goalless 90 minutes. RI scored in the first period of extra time and Nick Hutchinson netted twice in the second period.

Paul Broadbent got a hat-trick as Bishopthorpe hit back to win 6-4 in extra time after being 3-1 down to last season's beaten finalists Sheriff Hutton with seven minutes of normal time left.

Bishopthorpe's other scorers were Dale Lumley, David Kettlewell, Neil Sanderson. Gary Newton, Dale Newton, Dale Phillips and Kevin Butler scored for Sheriff Hutton.

Old Malton Reserves won 3-0 at home to Wilberfoss Reserves. Darren Walker scored after five minutes with a tap-in. In the second half, Tom Paley netted from 20-yards and the other scorer was Tommy Oxtoby.

Aaron Tiplady got both goals for Thorpe United Reserves in their 2-1 win at home to Wigginton Grasshoppers Reserves.
