ON the verge of a huge expansion breakthrough, York technology company Net P.A. Ltd will tomorrow seek a £200,000 cash injection.

The firm, based at York Science Park, has just teamed up with US software giant Unisys to produce its Net P.A. software which helps multi-national companies to communicate more effectively.

The software, being trialled until the end of next month by the London and Manchester offices of accountancy firm PricewaterhouseCoopers, is expected to boom - tripling the size of the five-person parent group, The Morrice Partnership.

Already Richard Morrice, managing director of Net P.A., has had talks with 20 companies interested in using the software.

Now he will look for the extra cash boost at Connect Yorkshire's investment Forum at the Met Hotel in Leeds tomorrow.

Connect Yorkshire primes the region's new technology companies for success. It gets them on the fast-track for growth by preparing and guiding them through the investment process.

He said: "The money would be to develop our intellectual property rights, to fund more software development and to run our office for a year."

Net P.A.'s software works by indexing all the work saved on a company's internal server. This allows employees to search for and request specific information about projects that other employees are working on, find out where they are based and how to contact them.

It also acts as a personal assistant, keeping everyone up to date with their appointments and expenses.

Mr Morrice said: "I am very excited about the funding opportunities presented by the Investment Forum. Net P.A. is a fantastic product that makes it easy for multi-national companies to stay in touch with their employees across the globe. Our ground-breaking software will hopefully be as popular as Microsoft and IBM's."

Nick Butler, Connect Yorkshire executive director, said: "The Investment Forum is a fantastic event that speeds up the investment process."
