Selby Town will be out for revenge when they travel to neighbours Pickering tonight in the first round of the Northern Counties East League President's Cup.

The Pikes beat Bob Lyon's men twice in the league last season when maximum points from either of those matches would have seen Selby clinch the league title and promotion to the UniBond League.

Instead, Goole were crowned champions and Selby go into tonight's match lying in a mid-table premier division position, while Pickering are third top.

Selby will give midfielders Stuart Lee and Matty Wain late fitness tests before deciding their starting line-up with both players missing Saturday's 1-0 victory at Mickleover Sports with minor problems.

Robins' assistant-manager Gary Cygan said: "It's always a good, derby against Pickering and we are just starting to find a little bit of form so it would be nice to turn them over after last season."

Player-boss Alex Mathie, Alex Willgrass and Dean MacAuley are all still sidelined for the Pikes and striker Liam Salt is also on holiday but midfielder Steve Roberts is back in contention.

Mathie is also looking forward to the match, saying: "We will be treating the game very seriously as I want to make progress in the competition and it's a derby. We beat them twice last season but they are always hard matches and we will need to be on top of our game."

Conference North play-off contenders Harrogate Town, meanwhile, travel to NCEL outfit Armthorpe Welfare tonight in the second round of the West Riding Cup, while Goole entertain Eccleshill United.

Neil Aspin's side will be looking to bounce back after their FA Trophy defeat against Solihull.

Harrogate beat Armthorpe 5-0 at Wetherby Road in the same stage of the WRCC last season, but Armthorpe will be a tough nut to crack on their own ground where they knocked out Bradford Park Avenue in the last round.

Ex-Town and Scarborough veteran forward Clint Marcelle is on Armthorpe's books.
