Goals were the order of the day in the York FA Sunday Morning Senior Cup third round tie between rivals Acomb WMC and Ainsty Panthers.

First blood was to Panthers who took a 2-0 lead through Thomas Reed and Chris Kamara before Paul Barker pulled a goal back for Acomb. Before half-time a Mark Willoughby header restored Panthers' two-goal advantage.

With 20 minutes to go the score stood at 6-3 to the Panthers with further goals from Willoughby, Kamara and Paul Baron, plus a goal each from Neil Ducey and Karl Young for Acomb.

Acomb's plight worsened when 'keeper was dismissed for comments to the referee, but this spurred Acomb to draw level with strikes from Ducey and Young to add to an own goal headed from ex-Acomb player James Hewitson. With minutes left, ten-man Acomb clinched the tie when Young seized on a rebound to poach his hat-trick and seal a stunning 7-6 comeback.

Hounds took an early lead against Shipton when Alan Jackson netted from the penalty spot but Shipton were soon level when Liam Stilgoe equalised courtesy of an error by Hounds keeper Mark Sanderson.

Hounds countered to lead 3-1 by half-time, a lead doubled after the break with goals from Daniel Rhodes, Shane Forrest and an own goal.

Severus beat Nestl Flag 4-0 with goals from Lee Jackson, Darren Sellars, Andrew Moss and Mark Woodward.

A mark of class settled a tight York FA Sunday Morning Junior Cup duel between Wilberfoss and F1 Racing.

Mark Tomlinson latched on to a Paul Humpleby header on the hour to send Wilberfoss into the next round.

Joe Ratcliffe put Gypsy Moth into a two-goal lead against Thomas's Hotel but by half-time an Ian Scott goal halved the arrears. The tie was settled after the break when Daniel Oxtoby beat three defenders before scoring for Gypsy Moth.

Heworth were hit by the Metcalfe show in the second half of their game against Raskelf Rovers with Andrew Metcalfe netting with a 25-yard left-footed drive. James Metcalfe bagged the second, before Andrew rounded the Heworth 'keeper to make it 3-0.
