CITY of York Hockey Club's Under-10 boys' Hawks team had to borrow three players from their girls' team because of illness in their squad to fulfil their latest Yorkshire Youth League games.

The Hawks lost their opener against Ben Rhydding 'B' 3-2 with Nathan Wilson and Jack Feasby on target.

Wilson, Rebecca Turnbull, Fern Grimbly and Matt Hays netted in a 4-2 win against Rotherham before a 5-0 defeat at the hands of Ben Rhydding 'A'. Wilson was also the marksman as York were held 1-1 by LA Carnegie.

A last-gasp goal by Feasby gave them a 2-1 win in their final match against Kirklees, Wilson having opened the scoring for York, who finished in fourth place in the 'A' League.

York Falcons, playing in the 'B' League found the going tough, losing 2-0 to Bradford and 2-1 to Harrogate with 0-0 draws with Ben Rhydding 'C', Doncaster and Driffield. Andrew Abel scored the York goal.
