IT is hoped that Nestl Rowntree is not making excuses up about the Pension Protection Fund costing the company millions of pounds ("Nestl Deny Sweets Switch", November 28).
What about the 1,600 York jobs, and the city economy? And the impact on people's lives who are employed in the KitKat and Smarties production departments?
The uncertainty and rumours surrounding this issue make employees fear for their future. Where will the 1,600 employees work if Nestl Rowntree does decide to relocate KitKat and Smarties production to Czech Republic?
