ORIENTEERS at the Mount School, York, have mapped their way to the top.
Their eight-strong team have been crowned champions of the small secondary schools' section in the British Orienteering Championships at Storthes Hall, Huddersfield.
The Year 10 trio of Philippa Harland, Victoria Brown and Sophie Reed were third in their class while Holly West, Florence Marsden and Hannah Steenbergen were also third in the Year 12 section.
Also in action were Year 9 pupils Carmen Harland and Emma Lightwing, who ran as a two-strong team as illness prevented Rebecca Springett from taking part.
For the small secondary schools section - those with less than 600 pupils - the best six scores counted. The Mount's six counters were from Year 10 and Year 12.
