EIGHT was great in the York FA Senior Minor Cup.
Nestl Rowntree shattered ten-man Selby Town 8-1, the victors' plunder shared by Danny Penrose (2), Jimmy Heslop (2), Sam Harrison (2), Tom McGee and Scott Stewart.
Real Cliffe went two goals up against Pocklington Town, who then stormed back to win 8-2 led by Scott Nichols (4), Ben Gilpin (2), Philip Gray and Shaun Robertson.
Finally, a well-organised Strensall toppled Tadcaster Magnets 8-0.
In the York FA Under-15s Minor Cup, Hamilton Panthers went one better, routing Real Cliffe 9-1, the week after losing 3-2 to the same opposition. Panthers' treasure trail was led by four-goal James Newnham with other strikes from Matthew Horner (2), Gareth Crump, Daniel Dowie and Craig Nichol.
Pocklington took the lead after five minutes of their tie against Poppleton through a fortunate own goal only for Poppleton to level by half-time. With the tie drifting toward extra time, Connor Swanborough struck to inch Pocklington into the semi-finals.
Ben Stoker's hat-trick led Easingwold Town's 8-3 win over New Earswick. George Elliott (2), Greg Wilsden, Simon Brown and Lawrence Hamzat also scored.
