Graham Lee, who was at yesterday's Go Racing In Yorkshire Awards Lunch in Ripon to receive the prize for being the top jumps jockey in the county last season, travels to Lincolnshire tomorrow in search of further success.
He rides Lennon in the Racing UK Novices' Hurdle and Howard Johnson's highly-rated gelding is napped to score.
An above-average 'bumper' horse last season, Lennon was a beaten favourite on his hurdling debut on this course at the beginning of the month.
Sent off at 10-11, he raced a bit too keenly and was beaten five lengths into second by Hoh Viss, a useful rival.
Johnson's horses have been in fine form since then and, over a slightly shorter trip tomorrow, Lennon is expected to recover losses and prove himself to be a smart addition to the hurdling ranks.
The Mick Easterby-trained Marsh Run makes appeal in the Legsby Road Handicap Hurdle. The six-year-old, a previous winner on this course, has been running well in defeat lately, most notably when sharing third place in a tight finish at Hexham on her latest start. Tom Greenall, her regular rider, again has the mount tomorrow.
Lambourn trainer Charlie Mann enjoys plenty of success on this course and can add another winner courtesy of Villair in the Willingham Woods Handicap Chase over three-and-a-half miles.
The six-year-old made his seasonal reappearance here a fortnight ago and shaped well to finish third to Garryvoe, staying on steadily in the closing stages. That outing should have helped sharpen him up and Villair has plenty going for him tomorrow.
At Wincanton, Justino is worthy of interest in the Advent Begins Today Novices' Handicap Hurdle.
Sidelined for the whole of last season, having previously shown himself to be a potentially smart performer, Justino made a hugely encouraging reappearance at Fontwell recently to finish second to English Jim.
He is entitled to improve as a result of that outing and he can reward trainer Jonathan Geake's patience by going one better tomorrow. Ben Hitchcott takes the mount.
The £12,000 Weatherbys Bank Silver Buck Handicap Chase, run in honour of the former Dickinson-trained super star, looks a good opportunity for Comanche War Paint to follow up last week's success.
It is significant that trainer Paul Nicholls is saddling Comanche War Paint in preference to Lord Anner, winner of his last two starts and entered in this race at the five-day stage.
