THE world of fashion in York got a double boost when a leading local store took two top prizes at a prestigious awards ceremony.
Sarah Coggles joined the likes of big names Harvey Nichols and Harrods to land the two biggest prizes of the night, Designer Store of the Year and Independent Retailer of the Year, at the annual Drapers Awards.
The awards, the fashion world's Oscars, were held at London's Grosvenor House Hotel.
Owner Mark Bage received the awards from the compere, Rob Brydon.
The judges praised Mr Bage and his team for creating "an outstanding business".
Mr Bage said: "I want to be excited when I shop, so we hope to create an experience people will tell others about. In Sarah Coggles you don't shop, you explore, and I think the judges understood that."
Sarah Coggles was founded on a stall in Newgate Market in 1974 by the late Victoria Bage.
