MARCIA moved a point clear at the top of York John Smith's Sunday Morning Football League division one after being held to a 2-2 draw by Nestl Volunteers.
They were made to fight all the way even though Volunteers were down to ten men after 30 minutes.
Tony Wetherall and Andy Green netted for leaders Marcia but a Howard double for Volunteers earned a point. All the goals came in the first half but Marcia could not make the extra man count after the interval.
Selby Olympia led 1-0 at Wigginton Grasshoppers but had to settle for a 2-2 draw. Danny Chadwick scored twice for Olympia with Tom Coates and Ash Hill on target for Wigginton.
Division two high-fliers Cueball Fulford remain joint-top with Shipton, who were on cup duty, after their 9-1 mauling of Haxby Lions.
The goals came from Joe Smart (3), Matt Gomm (2), Ant Hewson (2) Tony Turner and Jon Sargent.
The only other game in the division, between Shoulder of Mutton and Hambleton, ended goalless.
Skelton maintained their leadership of division three with a 4-2 win over third-placed Acomb Celtic.
Matty Graham opened the scoring for Skelton and, after Scott Dickinson equalised, two quick goals by Mike Heels and Janie Huggins put Skelton in charge.
Acomb's Ian Hufton pulled one back but a thumping header by Skelton's Richard Wells that went in off the bar sealed Skelton's victory.
Selby Olympia Reserves hammered nine-man Barlby Athletic with goals from Ben Atkinson (2), Haydn Parsonage, Spencer Pearson, John Richardson and Shane Cawkill.
Bay Horse Tadcaster defeated Inland Revenue 4-1 with Bardy, Sebine, Daniel and Murphy on the scoresheet. Revenue's consolation came courtesy of Chris Hilton.
Castle Howard Ox gained their first win of the season in division four after battling back to beat Carlton Tavern 5-4.
Carlton led 4-1 at the break thanks to Illing, Gibson, Burton and Craske but bottom club Ox roared back in style.
Real Way Station closed in on leaders Wanderers with a 3-0 win over Cueball Fulford Reserves with goals from Shooter (2) and Karmelita.
Selby Griffin and Albion Vaults drew 1-1 with Danny Harrop's goal for Griffin cancelled out by Albion's Lee Ward.
Division five leaders Acomb Rangers draw 3-3 at second-placed New Earswick after an almighty tussle. A Lindsey brace put Earswick 2-0 up but Acomb rallied and goals from Haigh, Sean Stockdale and Leigh Dutton put them 3-2 ahead. But with only minutes remaining, an own goal left both sides with a point.
Firkin 103 won 1-0 at Cawood where Paul Johnson was the matchwinner.
In the battle at the bottom, FC Barlby emerged 8-1 winners over Pocklington Rangers. Steve Davis knocked in four goals and was joined on the scoresheet by Bobby Baker (2), Lee Tingey and Martin Howson. Pock's reply came from Coxall.
Acorn FC slipped up badly after Waldron, Bedford and Bell had put them 3-1 ahead against Triangle Club. With three points looking secured, a three-goal barrage saw Triangle win 4-3.
