THANK you for your piece on British National Party activity ("Banish the sorry bigots", December 1).
We were most disappointed to hear that the BNP plans to field candidates in the local government elections in 2007. The BNP are a racist and bigoted party who offer no solutions to local or national issues.
If elected, the BNP would destroy the diversity and good community relations in our city.
As members of York Student Unity we completely oppose their presence in York and wish to state that they are not welcome on our campus.
We are very pleased that the Evening Press is taking a stand on this important issue.
