YORK City skipper Mark Hotte will return to action this afternoon if the reserves' home match against his former club Scarborough goes ahead.
Hotte has been sidelined since mid-October after fracturing his shoulder during the Minstermen's last league victory at home to Canvey Island.
But the former Seadog was set to play today if the game, scheduled for 2pm, survived a "gluey" pitch.
Midfielder Emmanuel Panther, recovering from ankle ligament damage, will not feature as he is still in Scotland because of family reasons.
Reserve regular Ryan Mallon will also play no part having joined Gainsborough Trinity in a one-month loan deal.
About the temporary switch, City boss Billy McEwan said: "It's to get him match fit because we haven't got any more reserve games in December after today. He's done well for us when he's come off the bench and we've needed him but this gives him the chance of regular first-team football."
