SPOT on, L G Arnott (Letters, November 29).
Tony Blair's opposition to what he calls state murder (ie capital punishment) does not represent the views of the national populace who, in poll after poll, have consistently asked for hanging to be brought back for violent killers.
Blair should realise that in a democracy the will of the majority is carried out.
