What about fining a cyclist £120 for riding through red traffic lights?
What about fining a cyclist £120 for riding the wrong way in a one-way street, as they persistently do in York?
Just think, a cyclist with no lights on the bike, riding on the footpath after ignoring red traffic lights would be liable for fines totalling £360 - a much more realistic penalty.
Why give cyclists 14 days to get lights fitted? They could break the law another 100 times in that fortnight.

The time is long overdue for the authorities to stop pussyfooting over these illegal and dangerous cycling practices.
