YORK and District Table Tennis League division one leaders York RI 'A' were in prime form as they whitewashed Groves WMC 'B', who will have their work cut out to avoid relegation.
Coneysthorpe 'A' and Sessions 'A' drew, with Martin Lowe winning three times for Coneysthorpe while Mick Willcockson and James Parker had a couple of victories each for Sessions.
Poppleton 'A' beat Nestl Rowntree 'A' 7-3, despite David Lamb's best efforts, to stay at the head of division two.
Holgate WMC 'B' climbed away from the bottom after a 9-1 win over Bootham CC 'B'. Ed Wardman and John Flintoft were unbeaten for Holgate.
Daniel Foxton starred to win three times in Coneysthorpe 'B' team's division three win against Bootham CC 'C', whose Gareth Bryning won twice.
Groves WMC 'C' beat Poppleton 'B' 7-3 with undefeated Steve Long leading the way.
The young Poppleton 'C' team - Tom Wright, Jon Soanes and Robert Farmery - were all unbeaten as they crushed Shepherds 'B' 10-0 in division four.
Holgate WMC 'C' beat York RI 'F' 9-1 thanks to three wins each by Vic Reed and John Temple.
Richard Falkingham was the star for Nestl Rowntree 'B' as they drew with Shepherds 'C'. Nigel Baker had a good win over Howard Lewis 11-6 7-11 11-4 11-2.
Luke Blackburn was unbeaten in the 8-2 victory by York RI 'H' over Holgate WMC 'D'.
There were contrasting fortunes for University 'B' in division six. They beat Shepherds 'D' 6-4 with Tom Coleman unbeaten but let a 4-2 lead over York RI 'J' slip and had to concede the last four games leaving RI 6-4 winners.
Jeff Brown and Jean Carter were both unbeaten for York RI 'K' against Norwich Union 'B'.
