CARECENT wish to express thanks for Christmas gifts.
Although operating all year, the gifts at Christmas are very special to those who receive them.
It is more than the gift, it is an acknowledgement of worthiness and that somebody really does think and, even more, acts in a kindly way about them.
Many gifts are from unknown donors who attend briefly, not leaving a name. To them and others with whom we work, your contribution of food, toiletries and other gifts, such as socks, were tremendously appreciated. It enabled at least one gift for each person.
In our 21st year of existence innovations are still made. This year on Christmas Day we were able to serve a sit-down festive "family" meal to those who were single and in uncertain circumstances and otherwise would have not had any food on that day at all. It was an emotional, wonderful and appreciated occasion.
We have also received ethical giving (not goats but money received in lieu of presents) with a "thank you" letter sent from Carecent.
Although the people and circumstances differ, sadly the need to be supportive is still with us. Thank you all for the continuing support.
Alan Wright,
Carecent co-ordinator,
