Harry Up, a winner for the Kevin Ryan yard at Wolverhampton last month, heads to Southwell tomorrow with every chance of clinching one of the feature races on the card.
The £10,000 Bet Now At betdirect.co.uk Handicap is the target for the Hambleton sprinter.
Ryan's stable-jockey Neil Callan, who is being widely tipped for championship honours in 2006, has the mount.
Callan may need to seek the advice of trainer's daughter Amy Ryan before partnering Harry Up.
The teenage amateur rider won on the five-year-old at Wolverhampton, where the duo came home strongly after dominating affairs from the final turn.
Previously trained by James Given and formerly a very useful juvenile, Harry Up promises to be a smart money-spinner for Ryan, with win number two looking a distinct possibility in this five-furlong dash.
Bryan Smart, Ryan's Hambleton neighbour, saddles Aegean Dancer in the Littlewoods Bet Direct Handicap, another £10,000 race.
Aegean Dancer got off the mark over this course and distance last month when justifying favouritism in maiden company.
He won easily, despite veering across the course in the closing stages to end up near the stands rail.
That was Aegean Dancer's first attempt on sand and it should stand him in good stead for tomorrow's follow-up attempt. Paul Eddery takes the mount tomorrow.
Robert Winston, who has made a fine start to the year, can add to his tally of winners aboard The City Kid in the seven-furlong claiming race. David Evans' three-year-old is already a winner on this course.
The booking of champion jockey Jamie Spencer for Macaroni Gold in the selling race looks significant.
Declan Daly's charge, a previous scorer on this course, used to be a fair bit better than selling class. He still looks good enough to win in this modest company.
Beef Or Salmon and Kingscliff head a record entry of 64 horses announced today for the totesport Cheltenham Gold Cup to be run on Friday, March 17.
