WITH regard to the recent furore about price rises on the trains.
When travelling beyond London, the Underground fare is part of the total fare. But this is not so for active and retired rail staff because they have to pay.
Their fare rise, although on a reduced sum, makes the public fare rises pale into insignificance, because it amounts to 50 per cent on the charge made before December 31.
