The recent letter by Peter Edwards, commercial director of First York, claiming that a reader's letter was misleading was, alas, also misleading.
In it, he compares York bus fares favourably with those of other Yorkshire regions. For example a Firstday in York at £3 is less than the £3.30 Firstday ticket in Leeds.
However, he forgets to mention that after 9.30am and all day on a weekend the ticket price in Leeds reduces to £2.30.
In addition, the First website actually claims the York ticket price to be £2.50. Surely First is in a dubious legal position should any driver have requested £3 since January 1?
I find your letter unprofessional, patronizing and insulting Mr Edwards. Have you ever thought of entering politics?
Paul Curtis,
Falconer Street,
York.
