My resolution for this year was to resist temptation and stop writing to the Press. That was soon out of the window when I read the letter "Dirty York, clean up your act".
Who the hell does "once in a blue moon visitor to York" Dillon Toyne from London think he is?
He moans about dog mess in certain streets and alleyways and blames the council for it. Shouldn't dog owners be blamed for letting their dogs foul the streets?
He then moans about household rubbish littering the streets and blames the council for it. Shouldn't people who live in terraced areas think about putting their refuse out the night before or morning of their refuse collection instead of the day after?
A suburb of a city is only as clean as the people who live in it, the council don't put dog muck, litter and refuse in streets, the residents do.
So Dillon, start the blame there next time, not at the people who have the job of clearing it up!
