SELBY side Kartiers made a great start to the year in Leeper Hare York and District League Reserve A by scoring their first win in the league since last February.

Two goals from Mark Lucas gave them a 2-1 home win over bottom club Malton Bacon Factory.

Haxby United, third from bottom, equalised three times - all scored by Mike Taylor - to earn a 3-3 draw at Pocklington.

Steve Hughes, Colin Peach and Les Falkingham had earlier each given Pocklington the lead.

New Earswick drew 1-1 with Huntington. Jonathon Ross put Huntington in front and Simon Connell equalised with New Earswick's first goal in four games.

Nestl Rowntree leapfrogged over Copmanthorpe to take fourth spot in the table by beating Copmanthorpe 2-0 with goals from Will Neviang and Luke Brownbridge.

Top of the table Dringhouses won 7-2 at home to St John's College with goals from Andy Barkway, Mick Lock, Adam Fishwick, Gary Smith, Gary Londesbrough (2) and Lee Jackson. Mike Maxim and Simon Jacobs replied for St John's.

Reserve B leaders Rufforth United won 2-1 away to their nearest rivals Easingwold Town to go 12 points clear in the table.

Nick Hawksby and Paul Moss scored for Rufforth, with Andrew Metcalfe Snr replying for Easingwold.

Poppleton were held to a draw by visitors Stamford Bridge after Poppleton had led 3-0 with two goals from Tim Hudson and one from Ross Haw.

Stamford Bridge clawed their way back to earn a 3-3 draw with goals from Pete Carpenter, John Hetherington and Martin Smith Snr.

Heslington conceded a first minute penalty to Church Fenton White Horse, which was converted by John Williams, before going on to win 5-1 with goals from Simon Musgrave (2), Jodie Topping (2) and John Hughes.
