TERRY Smith is absolutely right in his support of the Government's ban on cannabis (Letters, January 4). Anything which can impair one's ability to drive and cause road accidents such as last December's tragedy is clearly lethal and should be outlawed.
With that in mind, I am sure Mr Smith will be behind me in calling for an immediate ban on alcohol, cough syrup, local anaesthetic, mobile phones, small children, the common cold, and being in a bad mood - all of which can severely diminish driving ability with similar disastrous consequences.
