HOW have I ever found my way home? The article relating to revellers finding their way home from Selby town centre took some believing (December 23).
What a poor mollycoddled lot they must be... look for the yellow bands on the lamp-posts and signs showing the way, and posters with details in local pubs.
Must be a big place this Selby.
If these people, whoever they are, are old enough to go out revelling until whatever hours they choose, then surely they can find their way back home safely?
I recall attending a Christmas dance at the New Earswick Folk Hall in 1952 and then walking home with a pal and two girls to Gale Lane, Acomb - and then onwards to Boroughbridge Road where my pal and I lived at that time. How did we find our way?
There is a cost involved here - no wonder my council tax bill goes ever upwards so quickly.
