THREE motorists were treated at York Hospital yesterday after a series of accidents in and around the city.
A man was taken to hospital after being cut out of his car in a road accident in Bishopthorpe.
Emergency crews were called to the single vehicle crash on Appleton Road at about 7.30pm yesterday.
A fire crew from York used hydraulic cutters to free the man from the car. He sustained minor injuries.
An hour earlier, a busy York road had been blocked after a two-vehicle crash.
The accident happened on Heslington Road, near The Victoria pub.
Police confirmed one of the drivers, a woman, was taken to hospital "for a check-up" after the crash.
Police said the accident caused congestion because one of the vehicles involved had blocked the road.
At about 2.15pm yesterday an elderly scooter rider was injured after a collision with a car in Pocklington.
The man, in his 70s sustained minor injuries as his scooter was involved in a smash with a car on the B1246 Yapham Road.
