It Happened On January 10
1931: In the third round of the FA Cup, City drew 1-1 away to First Division (Premiership) Sheffield Utd in front of 31,821 at Bramall Lane. Fred Laycock was the scorer. The Blades won the replay 2-0 at Fulfordgate.
1964: City suffered their seventh successive defeat when they lost 1-0 at Workington and were bottom of Division Four.
1975: Tom Johnston's last match as manager ended in a 1-1 home draw against Southampton watched by 9,562. Chris Topping was the scorer and City were 16th in Division Two (Championship).
1981: Ian McDonald and Lloyd Richards scored in a 2-1 win over Wigan Athletic at Bootham Crescent. City were 14th in Division Four.
1998: A 0-0 home draw against Oldham Athletic. It was City's fourth successive draw and they were ninth in Division Two (League One). The attendance was 4,454.
2004: In front of 4,804 City beat Carlisle Utd 2-0 at Bootham Crescent with goals from Chris Brass and Richard Cooper. They were tenth in Division Three (League Two). It was to be City's last win of the season and their last in the Football League.
