I HAVE just returned from a delightful evening at Joseph Rowntree Theatre where Stagecoach performed The Rose And The Ring.
How sad to hear John Cooper announce at the end that, unless Coun Steve Galloway's plan to cut the council's support was reversed by January 16, this talented and enthusiastic group would be no more.
Surely it would make better sense in the long term to give every encouragement to organisations like this. What better way to build for York's and the country's future than to get young people into a situation where they learn such valuable skills as self-confidence, teamwork, musical ability, and the ability to speak in public.
Please think again Coun Galloway. Money is not everything. These people are a credit to York.
