YORK Acorn's Under 18 rugby league players saw off Hunslet Parkside in the quarter-finals of the Yorkshire League Cup with an impressive 26-8 victory.
Acorn held a 10-0 lead after 15 minutes only for Parkside to reply with two well-taken tries.
With Acorn side playing down the muddy hill in the second half the win was never in doubt as they ran in another three tries to no reply from a Hunslet side who struggled to cope with Acorn's hard working forwards and tough-tackling defence.
Thomas Mackley produced a man-of-the-match winning display with a try and three conversions to add to a brace from Simon Wadsworth. Further tries from Joe Budd and Karl Harton sealed an impressive victory for the Acorn youngsters.
