Rich Corner included a maximum for 21 as York Knavesmire Racing Darts League division one leaders Mitre narrowly defeated Huntington WMC.
The leaders went 3-0 up with Kev O'Hara out in 19 and John Quantock 20, but Huntington hit back through Pip Hair (20) and Mark White (18) to level after the singles. Hair-White made it 4-4 before Dave O'Hara-Allan Galley sealed the win.
Clifton 'A's 8-1 victory at Falcon saw Martyn Turner out in 18 and Mark Hartley adding a 180 and 21. Steve Wade's 21 won the match within the singles, while Andy Edkins-Geoff Kitson took the only point for the home side.
Stu Limbert's 180 for a 15 and 19-darter stood out for Greyhound in their 8-1 result against Crescent WMC. He was backed up by Bill Platt (16), Dave Pilmoor (18) and Mark Blundell (180) as Greyhound dominated with Stu and Steve Limbert adding a 26-dart 701 leg. The best player for Crescent was Kev Uttley (16) and Dave Smith with 21.
Ebor's Tess Rolls gamed on 'tops' to save the whitewash against Volunteer who had Paul Botterill (18), Paul Dixon (19), Mick Harris (19) and Mark Thornton with 20.
Yearsley 'A' ran out 6-3 winners against Bootham Tavern 'A', whose Glyn Jeffery was out in 21.
Greg Robinson (19)-Lee Carter (20) combined to clinch the win against Leeman, whose stars were Steve Parkinson (17) and Toni Smallwood (2x21).
In division two, Clifton's Steve Simpson closed on 120 as the leaders defeated Groves WMC 7-3.
Palace had Arthur Scott hitting a 180 for 18 to save the aggregate against Jackdaw.
Reindeer's climb up the table continued after a 6-4 win at Huntington SC, whose Dave Welch closed on bull. Bob Rochester gamed in 22 for the visitors.
Crown recorded a 7-3 victory against Burton, while Woolpack had a narrow 6-4 win against Cygnet.
Keith Turner started 2006 with a bang by hitting a 180 and a bull finish for a fantastic 15 darts as he led Acomb to a 7-2 win at Swan in York John Smith's Men's League division one.
Chris Thompson gamed in 16 to help Sun 'A' to a 6-3 win at Crescent, whose Paul Keers hit a 116 finish for 21.
John Mooring shot 17 and Jack White added 21 to nudge Cygnet 'A' to a 5-4 win at Flag 'B'.
Alan Shipley finished in 20 to give Dringhouses the edge in a 5-4 win over Britannia, while Mark Neale-Graham Wilkinson were Rose & Crown's match winners as they beat Cygnet 'B' 7-2.
Mark Jones gamed in 21 to lead Shepherd to a 5-4 win over Derwent Arms, whose Pete Cooper shot out in 20 in division two.
Pete Edwards hit 20 darts to rescue the aggregate for Fulfordgate as they lost 5-4 to Slip Inn. Mark Gamble-Kev Richmond were the match winners.
John Ward finished in 21 as he led Golden Slipper to an 8-1 demolition of Green Tree. Mat Grey-Simon Theaker took the decider for Sun 'B' against Institute who, with a good win from Pete Watson, rescued the aggregate.
