ONE of Pocklington's best-known pubs has been sold to a local licensee.
The leasehold for The Station Hotel, at The Pavement, in the centre of the town, has been bought by Kim Lightfoot from administrators of the holding group for an undisclosed sum.
Estate agent Andrew Spencer, of Christie and Co, said: "Kim is a very experienced landlady who has run pubs in the area for a number of years and is very keen to establish The Station Hotel as the leading public house in Pocklington.
"She was quick to recognise the sale of the Station Hotel as a great business opportunity and intends to introduce food and extend the opening hours.
"The pub was fitted out last year to a very high standard and is particularly busy at the weekend, attracting trade from all age groups. We wish Kim every success."
The leasehold interest in The Station Hotel runs until April 2032.
