NEW recruit Dean O'Loughlin can't wait to get stuck into Leeds Rhinos and show York City Knights what he's all about.
The 23-year-old prop, signed from Doncaster in the off-season, is one of only three new faces set to start tomorrow's opening friendly clash of 2006.
And he is determined to reap the dividends of having first shot by putting on a formidable display to not only lay claim to a starting bert, but also show the fans what they can expect.
"I want to give a good first impression to get my spot for the rest of the season," said O'Loughlin.
"There's a lot of competition for places - there are 12 good forwards all going for a spot and it's going to be tough to win a place.
"But it keeps you on your toes and makes sure there's no complacency."
He added: "I want to be a pack leader this year, try to dominate and lead from the front."
The Knights' 20-man squad for tomorrow's game includes five more new faces on the bench, all of whom have been promised a good run-out by boss Mick Cook.
O'Loughlin added: "The York fans been waiting to see the new signings and this is a chance for a lot of us to shine."
York City Knights have tied up a deal for fans to use the Monks Cross park-and-ride car park tomorrow for £3 as part of a trial.
Supporters need to take the barrier tokens to the park-and-ride office to be validated. The stadium car park will be available, price to be confirmed.
