THERE was a small consolation for York City midfielder Darren Dunning at Tuesday night's 1-0 home defeat against Stevenage Borough.
Dunning was presented with the Evening Press Player of the Month award for December before the match by City supporter Kath Rowe.
Kath was selected from readers who e-mailed us a man-of-the-match selection for last month's games.
To be in with a chance of presenting this month's winner with his award, please e-mail dave.flett@ycp.co.uk with your top man for any game in January.
The framed photograph was Dunning's second of the season after sharing the September honours with Clayton Donaldson.
Former Hull City striker Donaldson was an outright winner in October while the efforts of David McGurk (August) and Dave Merris (November) have also been recognised.
On-loan Carlisle United defender Lee Andrews is leading the Evening Press Player of the Month standings for January.
Andrews collected four points as our second-highest rated player in City's matches against Crawley Town and Stevenage and also received the two bonus points on offer for the latter match, having received the most man-of-the-match readers' votes.
Skipper Mark Hotte was awarded three points as our top man in the 1-0 win at Crawley, while Dunning claimed a point as our third-highest rated player.
Leading scorer Andy Bishop won the two bonus points after topping our readers' poll.
