I HOPE no one misinterpreted my earlier letter about the food at York Hospital (December 23) as a criticism of the care there - it was certainly not intended to be.
Doctors, nursing and ancillary staff were kindness itself to my husband during his eight-week stay. After Mr Alden's letter (January 9), I am left wondering whether a different menu is offered in the Elderly Medical Unit (EMU) to that in the rest of the hospital. Presumably, with a broken hip, he would have been in a surgical ward. Certainly no one with their taste-buds intact could have enjoyed every meal in EMU.
Mrs G M Page,
