I READ about the meeting to campaign to improve safety and tackle traffic jams on the A1079 near York (January 13).
Why were there no representatives from Kexby and why were we not invited to the meeting at Pocklington Arts Centre?
We, the residents and parish council, have been campaigning for some time now for traffic calming measures along the A1079, which has included a slot on a local radio station and also a meeting with the council highways department.
Something must be done about the traffic - apart from the noise from lorries speeding along starting at 5am, various residents cannot even get out of their own drives on a morning to get to work because of the sheer volume of traffic.
Jill Edwards,
Kexby parish councillor,
Ingham Lodge,
Kexby,
