York Under-12 schoolboy footballers have marched into the semi-finals of the Michael Dale Trophy after a 3-0 defeat of hosts Nottingham.
Jamie Wilstrop and Jack Wickham went close before Jacob Gore had a header cleared off the line following a great corner from Aaron Hudson.
York continued to attack and eventually took the lead through Tom Kite's close-range finish.
The few Nottingham attacks were easily dealt with by cool goalkeeper George Catling.
When a home attack broke down, Jordan Holt cleared it to Wilstrop, who cleverly put Jacob Gore through. He finished well past the onrushing 'keeper.
Good work from York's midfield led to Wilstrop scoring a great third to seal the win in which debutant Tom Platt was outstanding and captain Jacob McCormick excelled as man of the match.
