WHILE I think park-and-ride schemes are, in principle, a good idea, I cannot believe that the proposed Hazelbush Caf site is appropriate.
Within 100 yards of this site is the Towthorpe/Stockton-on-the-Forest A64 junction, where every year there are several serious crashes.
Now it is proposed that hundreds of extra cars and buses should attempt to turn right across the traffic in almost the same place. This is madness.
To make this project safe, extensive alterations to the road would be needed such as an underpass or flyover to let cars safely turn right out of or into the site.
