AS residents of Walmgate, and participants in the street's crime action group, we were delighted to receive Prime Ministerial endorsement this week.
When York MP Hugh Bayley was given the chance to quiz Tony Blair in the Commons, he raised the Walmgate partnership.
This area has its problems, many bound up in drink or drugs. But the combined efforts of residents, businesses, the police and the city council have already made it a better place in which to live and work.
Mr Blair seemed delighted by the progress. And if he would like to come along and see for himself, we would be happy to show him round.
