NEW-LOOK Melbourne seemed to be holding their own against high-flying Huntington in division one of the York Sunday Afternoon League.
They were only 1-0 down at the interval, but eventually ended up on the end of a 7-0 hammering as Nicke Rakocevic (2), Tom Richards, Paul Branscombe, Stuart Phillips, David Stoner and Lee McQuade (penalty) got among the goals.
Turf beat Walnut Tree 6-0 with Jamie Agnew, Daniel Barrett, Mark Belleh, Gavin Clark and Tim Hudson (2) on the mark.
A hat-trick from Ryan Davies and goals from Chris Baxter, Stephen Denton and Chris Esberger propelled York St John's to a 6-3 victory against Wills Bar, whose Sam Thackray netted a treble.
Former York City player Adam Arthur netted for Dunnington in their 1-1 draw with College of Law, whose goal came from Andrew Yates.
In division two, Ben Connell scored four times in Dunnington Reserves' 6-1 win against Cross Keys. Paul Downing and Matthew Davis also got on the scoresheet with Wayne Gibson hitting Keys' consolation.
Drum and Winning Post fought out a 3-3 draw with David Barber, Richard Douthwaite and Stephen Moore on target for Drum. Paul Brett, Dean Farrah and Liam King responded for Winning Post.
King's Head recovered from a 1-0 half-time deficit to draw 2-2 with Bubwith White Swan, whose goals came from Matthew Rhodes and Peter Taylor. The marksmen for King's Head were Chris Hodgson and Thomas Paley.
Knavesmire ran away with their game against Wigginton Grasshoppers to record a 6-2 victory, Stuart Dickinson scoring a hat-trick.
