THE Liberal Democrats running the city council now tell us the new York Central plan for the area near York Railway Station will cost between £30 million and £110 million. That leaves them plenty of room for error - how typically "Liberal"!
They say they want a Park & Ride scheme on the A59 road, but no details are forthcoming.
It is fair to assume they hope to site it on the old Civil Service sports ground in Boroughbridge Road. This current neglected eyesore could have been used for low-cost first-time houses or would be a good location for the new Arc Light hostel.
What with the madness over parking charges in York and the useless ten-minute-only stay areas all forcing customers and trade away from York - one wonders about Steve Galloway and his fellow Liberal Democrats.
