Malton AND NORTON RUFC were given a thorough test by a rejuvenated Redcar before sustaining their promotion drive in Durham/Northumberland One with a 15-9 win.
Malton flanker Karl Shaw powered over early on and, although Redcar pinned an under-par Malt back and scored two penalties and a drop goal to lead at half-time.
Ian Cooke kicked a penalty and, with ten minutes left, ran the ball out of defence, with Ryan Lonsdale making great ground and prop James Machin finishing from 40 metres, Cooke goaling.
Pocklington lost 38-18 to Yorkshire Two leaders Scarborough 38-18.
Boro's two New Zealanders proved the difference when the sides last met and did so again as back-row Junior Tupai scored a hat-trick while Marcus Edwards shone at stand-off and kicked six goals.
The main difference between the sides was Scarborough's better execution, though Pock did score through a Nick Bennett penalty, a lineout catch and drive try from back-row Dan Wilson, and a score for wing Harry Allen.
But Pock let in two more tries before having the last say through Scott Littlefair.
