York Acorn ARLC have been drawn at home to National Conference division one rivals Ince Rosebridge in the first round of the Powergen Challenge Cup.
Wiganers Ince head the standings but home advantage may give mid-table Acorn the edge. The tie will be played on Saturday, February 4.
National League Three amateurs Bramley Buffaloes have a big tie at home to National Conference club Thatto Heath.
Bramley yesterday put up a brave display in losing 62-24 to big-spending NL2 club Dewsbury in a pre-season friendly, Francis Maloney scoring a hat-trick for the Rams.
Other notable weekend friendlies saw promoted Castleford beat local rivals Wakefield 33-20, while new-look Harlequins thumped Super League newcomers Les Catalans 46-6, winger Matt Gafa and centre Tyrone Smith notching doubles.
