RELATING to the story Angry Staff Take A Stand (January 19), I am as appalled as the staff of Huntington School to hear about the attack on two cleaners by teenage boys.
But although it is creditable that the two men have been supported by Mr Bridge, the head teacher, and the whole of his staff, I cannot agree that what they are doing is right.
Surely this 15-year-old must be frightened by the yobs. If they could do this to two innocent people then what would they be capable of doing to someone who turned them in? I am sure this boy knows only too well.
I am as keen as anyone to see these youths caught, but I think it is a matter for the police and I cannot see that what the school is doing will encourage the boy to hand in his friends, but quite the opposite.
It surprises me greatly that Mr Bridge has been given 100 per cent support on this matter, for surely this must be a controversial way of dealing with things. It makes me wonder if members of his staff are as unsure of standing up and being counted as this 15-year-old boy is.
