The Hunters York & District Senior Cricket League has founded a 'Hall of Fame' in order to recognise the playing records of the outstanding players who have given loyal service to their clubs and the league over an extensive period of time.
The first 11 players have been selected to receive the honour. The initial list contains many former star performers in the league going back to the 1950s and 1960s with only two still currently playing.
Three further stalwarts are to be enrolled in recognition of their lifetime achievement.
The 14 will be officially enrolled at a buffet at Clifton Alliance CC on Tuesday, March 14. Tickets can be obtained from league secretary Albert Pattison tel 01904 490394 for a small charge.
