Wigginton Grasshoppers took the honours in the Leeper Hare York and District Football League premier division clash of the day as they moved into second place after beating St John's College 2-0.
Terry Taylor gave Wigginton the lead and Chris Abercroft doubled the advantage 20 minutes from time to give the hosts their first home win in three games.
Thorpe United jumped into third after they won a bad-tempered game at Malton Bacon Factory. Two goals from Shane Singleton and one from Craig Whitley gave Thorpe a 3-0 lead before two goals from Simon Collins reduced the deficit early into the second half. Craig Pickles then made it 4-2 with a controversial goal and MBF had two players dismissed in the same incident
League leaders Dringhouses beat Haxby 4-1 with goals from Craig McShane, Graham Mitchell, Lee Atkinson and a rare strike from Steve Harrison. Dave Cruddas netted for Haxby.
Old Malton continued their trend of late winners with two goals in the last nine minutes to beat Bishopthorpe 3-1 for their fourth win on the spin. Phil Hill put Old Malton ahead but Bishops levelled three minutes later. It looked like being a draw until Dave Bell and an own goal gave Old Malton victory.
Huntington thumped Dunnington 5-0 with an Iain Dunn hat-trick - which included a couple of penalties - a long range effort from Paul Downes and Adam Bruce's late strike.
Despite a goal from Graeme Butcher, Copmanthorpe went down 3-1 at home to Kartiers and T&L Selby beat Pocklington by the same score with the Selby goals comingfrom Brendan Lanaghan, Dave Reasbeck and an opponents.
The top two sides in division three were both beaten with leaders Osbaldwick going down to a Paul Bray goal at home to Cawood.
Norton suffered their third consecutive defeat as they were beaten 3-2 by Rawcliffe, whose winner came ten minutes from the end with a Dave Stoner penalty. Twice Norton had drawn level through Chris Seagar and John Dutton after Ricky Hunter and Danny Coulson had given Rawcliffe the lead.
St Clements took second place from Norton but only after coming from 2-0 down against Melbourne with 17 minutes remaining. Goals by Martin Broom, Shaun Wood and John Dale, whose winner came in the 89thn minute, did the trick.
Huby, with goals from Lee Gordon, Dan Smith, Richard Jennison and an opponent, are still unbeaten following their 4-1 win at Strensall. James Joicey replied for the hosts.
Ian Scott gave LNER Builders the lead at Stillington in the first minute but goals from Jamie Metcalfe and Paul Floyd put the home side in front only for Ken Sharman to equalise for Builders nine minutes from the end.
Tamin Sheris (3), Kev Ingleby (2), Ben Branigan, Shaun Hunter and Ed Heard gave Heworth a comfortable 8-0 win at Wheldrake.
A second half hat-trick from Gary Smith helped Reserve 'A' leaders Dringhouses extended their lead at the top with a 5-1 win at Haxby. Their other goals came from Steve Cross and Lee Jackson. Jamie Pulleyn scored for Haxby.
Copmanthorpe trailed to a Shaun Wilfred goal against Malton Bacon Factory, but the experienced Darren Starkey equalised and Mike Peace put Cop in front. Ben Webster levelled for MBF but a late Gavin Mears header won the points for Cop.
Huntington were beaten by goals from St John's Richard Holden, Sam Cook and Mike Firek.
A scrambled goal from Dave Wright gave Nestl the lead at home to New Earswick and a Luke Brownbridge wrapped up a 2-0 home win.
Kartiers moved out of the relegation places after they drew 1-1 draw at Pocklington, Ian Stables netting for the hosts.
