THIS is the last straw! To lose the Barbican swimming pool is just plain unforgivable.
The whole point of the Barbican redevelopment was to secure a new swimming pool for York. Developers will be making loads of money from the site. What do residents get back in return?
The developers should pull out. Re-open the Barbican and start all over again to find a way to provide a new pool on the site.
At the moment the pool is still there. Once it is gone, it is gone forever.
Finally, I am not a member of the Save Our Barbican campaign. I live on the other side of the city and I used to visit the centre on a weekly basis with my pre-school daughter.
