I AGREE with Adele Brolly's letter (January 21). Why should the residents of York have to travel to other cities so their children can ice skate?
We also have been to Rotherham to Virtual Ice, which looks and feels like ice, but is in fact a roller rink and it is fantastic.
How long will it take for either the city council or some private company to realise that if a roller rink or ice-rink were built for the residents, it would be a huge success?
My children will probably still be waiting, until they are in their forties, as I have done since I went to an ice-rink on a coach trip when I was a child.
