I HAVE been reading with increasing incredulity in my wonderful Evening Press of the campaign to keep the footpath open which runs along and across the St Peter's School field.
As someone on the sidelines from distant Stamford Bridge, I fail to see how such a dangerous footpath can be kept open.
There have apparently been 66 incidents - including the latest thefts from school changing rooms - which could have led to an injury to a pupil if they had come in at the wrong moment.
I spent some 38 years working in residential schools and know the importance of protecting vulnerable youngsters. The path should be closed without delay.
