Tang Hall Primary School will be hoping to outstrip their York Schools League opponents this season in their brand new kit.
The school have received a £400 Football Foundation grant because of its charter status and the strip will be christened by the year five and six team against New Earswick when the season restarts early next month.
Home and away kits have been bought with the money and Tang Hall are bidding to build on their 100 per cent start to the season after victories over St Lawrence's and Copmanthorpe.
Midfielder Shauna Jerrold, nicknamed Shauna 'Gerrard' after talismanic Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard, will continue to skipper the side who look to her for inspiration despite being the team's only female player.
About the new strips, teacher Martin Lumb said: "The kit before was very old and we were playing in three different strips with nobody's shorts or socks matching so the kids are thrilled by the new kit and can't wait to play in it."
